Framing Process

We have been so excited about our house going up! We go over pretty much every day (and sometimes a second time when Dave gets home from work) to check on progress. I'm sure the crew working over there thinks we're absolutely crazy, but we couldn't be more excited and the kids love it too! Every day when I pick up Hero from school, she requests we drive over there and see it. It has become our routine to swing by and take a look. Luckily it is only 5 min. out of our way and doesn't take much extra time out of our day. This is the neighborhood we are building in. As you can see the neighborhood has only just started being built and we are only the 6th house going up. It looks like things are starting to take off though and two other homes have just been started as well.

Day 1 - The first floor and some of the second go up.

Day 2 - The second floor is completed and the roof is added.

Day 3 - The windows are put in and the trim is added.

It'll be so cool to look back on this 10 years from now when the neighborhood's all mature and developed, to see how it all started. When my parents bought their house in AZ, we felt like we were moving to the middle of nowhere! Now, 12 years later, civilization has caught up to the neighborhood, and you would never know that it started out just like your little neighborhood is. It just feels like it's always been there. How cool to be part of that process!

It is so fun to see the rapid progress of framing. We can't wait to see the finished product!
